Monthly Letter
March 2026
Dear Parents and Students:
We have a busy period coming with piano over the next three months! One piece of news is that the recital date has been secured. It will held on Saturday, May 9th, 11am at the Chevy Chase Library 8005 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. The following students signed up on the event sheets:

I realize you signed up before the date was announced, so please confirm by replying to this email if you are still able to participate. And if you wish to be added to the list, please reply and let me know. There will also be a sign-up sheet in the technology lab/waiting room soon.
Here are some reminders about upcoming events:
• The MSMTA Theory Exam will be held at Watkins Mill High School in Germantown on Sunday, March 15th. Times will be forwarded as soon as they are received from the theory chair.
• The Student Recital is on Saturday, May 9th, 11am at the Chevy Chase Library.
• Spring Break from piano is Monday, March 30th through Monday, April 6th. Tuesday, April 7th through Thursday, April 9th are makeup days.
Speaking of makeup days, all Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday students are entitled to a makeup day for dates I have canceled during this school year. And if you have canceled a lesson, you are entitled to one makeup day for that as well. There will be makeup days at the end of May, but if you would like to do a makeup lesson during spring break, attached is a chart of days/times available. Please reply to this email to sign up. Please note that you may sign up for a time that is different than your regular lesson time! Lessons will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, so reply soon to get your first choice!
Registration materials for next year will be emailed soon and forms will be due by March 31st.

Makeup Lessons 2025-2026
All students are eligible for one makeup lesson during the year for lessons that are canceled in advance and are not otherwise rescheduled or exchanged.
Students may exchange lesson times via the Lesson Exchange List.
Students may request a change to a virtual lesson if unable to attend in person.
Lessons missed due to inclement weather will be either converted to virtual lessons or asynchronous assignments, which will be emailed to parents.
If a lesson is missed due to teacher conflict, that lesson will be made up at an agreeable time. This will be in addition to the one makeup lesson offered for a student conflict. All Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday students are eligible thus far for the 2025-2026 school year.
Below is a listing of available makeup times. Please note the days added in March/April during spring break, which is a new option this year.
