Monthly Letter

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It’s now time to start thinking about the upcoming Musicale. Many of you have probably been hearing Christmas music practiced in your homes already!  

The Musicale/Pizza Party will be held at my studio on Thursday, December 18th at 5:30pm.  The event usually lasts about an hour.  Participation in this event qualifies students for the performance trophy at the end of the year as well as a goal toward the Musicathon. Students attending should plan to play at least one piece for the group. Additional pieces played will qualify students for extra contest coins! Just started lessons this year and nervous about performing? This a fun way to enter into the world of playing in front of others and can be less daunting than a formal recital. Dress is casual and there will be pizza, games, and prizes. There will be no regular lessons this day. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Closer to the event, I will poll those signed up to get a count of how many people will be attending.

While I was planning on playing myself, I had a fall and broke my left wrist before Thanksgiving. So it’s in a cast for a few weeks and unfortunately, performing isn’t an option for me! But it won’t affect lessons or student performances this month so hearing students play will be my musical enjoyment!

The winter break from piano will be from Friday, December 19th through Sunday , January 4th.  Happy holidays!
